I notice this today also HS........
Everyone one of my numismatics was up during the dip. It feels great to have a performer willing to shine when the other cast members are down. Newbie's beware......numismatics are a horrible investment and should be avoided at all cost. No one will want these rare overpriced coins when TSHTF!! Please don't let the fact that these coins have been rising at a nice steady clip fool you. It is just a trap! If you have made the mistake and purchased some of these God awful coins, PM me at once so I can rid you of your horrible mistake. Please don't delay, the numismatic market could crash before you are done reading this message...... |

That DIP was the phoney English Central Bank trying to get back some respect for the US FRN dollar $. They LOST; they LOANED much gold to a shill partner who tried to sell it all into the market to HURT the price. So they accomplished a $40 buck hit with eight bucks back today. Sad, how much the CENTRAL BANKERS hate gold and silver so much because it is honest money. Numismatics gives one a separate marketplace too. |

Numismatics are the "turtles" in the rabbit race of PM's.
A lot of GIM'ers are -negative on Numismatics, but that's based on their unfamiliarity with them and poor relations with dealers. Coins are actually still 'lagging' the market percentage wise. IF you pick up any coin price guide from the year 1981-1983 you'll find that Morgans held their lofty amounts for a few years after the spike.......it wasn't until the mid-1980's did their values start rapidly declining. IF one likes Silver but hates Volatility then by all means invest in MS grade Morgans (slabbed) and you won't be disappointed. The reaction times are much slower and easier to predict ! |

well i know nothing about this, but have you guys come across vrenelis? aka swiss gold francs. i've read that during the last gold bull, they traded at a premium to their bullion content. very little info around today on that, but i have read a couple of independent articles stating this. they tend to go for below spot now on ebay. there's only about 1/10th oz of gold per 20 franc coin, so you need a good few to make it worthwhile, is the only downer i can see (apart from having to decipher german/italian instructions relating to postal insurance and costs!)

I like my Morgans and many Numismatics that I collect.... I do have way more in my PMs than Numis though....
I collect both as a hobby and somewhat as an investment/protection tool... My goal is to see how big of a hoard I can collect over my life... I guess if I need to sell off some after retirement I will, but I'm trying to get everything paid off and taken care of way before then.... I'm hoping to pass it all on to my daughter who is only 10 now and spends her allowance on Numismatics, Silver Canadian Maples and Silver AEs... |
